Just like Mom

My oldest son recently found out he needs glasses because he's nearsighted. We picked up the new specs yesterday at the optometrist. I know I'm biased, but I thought he looked great. Here's our conversation in the car:

Me: You look fantastic in your glasses.
Him: Thanks. I'm worried that people will think I look like a dork.
Me: No way. You look great. They make you look so mature and smart.
Him: You mean smarter.
Me: (laughing, because that was a crack up) Anyway, I showed a picture of you in your glasses to Kris. Her daughter E wears glasses, and E was happy to know another kid who wears them.
Him: So she's glad to know me?
Me: Well, yeah. Can't say I blame her. I know I'M glad to know you. You're awesome.
Him: Obviously.

Aaaaand: scene!

Those glasses really suit him! Did you get the transition lenses too? E thinks she's the coolest kid around when hers turn into sunglasses on the playground.

Where did you get them from? Finding decent glasses for children is tough. We bought a pair from Costco and a backup from Kaiser. Both pairs were really affordable, and we're really happy with them so far. E prefers to wear the pair from Costco, and aside from tightening the screws, they are holding up amazingly well to wear and tear. Though I still anticipate buying new ones each year as she grows and likely gets a new Rx.
