Mom Joins Facebook

Since my office computer server blocks all social networking sites, I don't get a chance to check Facebook as often as I probably would like. The bright side, I suppose, is that it's prevented me from losing countless hours playing Farmville. Anyway, last night I signed on to catch up with what people are doing and noticed that one of my suggested friends-to-add in my sidebar was my mother. She's already friends with several of my friends. (Kris, don't you feel special?) However, she is not friends with me or either of my sisters. Nor any other family members for that matter.

What's up with that, Mom?

Of course, maybe I should count my blessings. Have you ever looked at the site called Oh Crap. My Parents Joined Facebook?

that is hilarious! berek's mom is the same. she's friends with everyone under the sun, but not us. berek refuses to add her and is waiting to see how long it takes. i'm guessing your mom will add you first. :)

I'm friends with both of my parents on facebook (because how do you tactfully decline?) and it weirds me out.

She's not your friend! Oh no! That's kind of hilarious.

I love that site - poor parents... some of them just don't get the technology!

I died a little inside the day my Mother-in-law friended me on Facebook. I can feel her judgement every time I post a photo of us doing something non-church related on a Sunday.

The weirdest thing for me is that both my parents, who have been divorced for 30 years, are Facebook friends. And they ask me questions about each other's status or photos! AWKWARD!

Yep, I remember that day in my FB world too. It got a bit darker then.

I haven't been on that site, but guess where I'm headed next...

My mom finally got on Facebook because I kept bugging her about it. Which is cool and all, except that she invites me to join every stupid game imaginable.

Awesome. My MIL is on FB but not my mom. She says she has no desire, which I'm a fan of. It is weird to me to think there are kids out there whos parents were on FB before they were -- and they'll grow up with online identities before they had a choice.
